Miriam L. Sample, age 86, of Massillon, passed away, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at The Inn at University Village.

She was born January 17, 1940, in Canton, the daughter of the late Maurice and Lois (Shoemaker) Snyder.

Miriam retired from Massillon Community Hospital where she was an LPN.

She was a member of Jackson Friends Church,

Miriam is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws, Guy (Denise) Sample and Cy (Maryellen) Sample; grandchildren, Colleen Owen, Christopher (Anna) Cignetti, John (Tabbitha), Bill (Krista) Sample, Joe (Marie) Sample, Elizabeth (Doug) Dobson; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Gavin, Dean, Rose, and Paisley; siblings, Ruth (Paul) Warner and Dave (Ann) Snyder, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, William Sample; son, Gary Sample; brother, Edison Snyder; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Chuck.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 11 AM to 12 Noon at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL.

Funeral service will follow and begin at 12 Noon.

Burial to follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
