Mona Sue Knouff, age 88 of Massillon, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 at Windsor Medical Center with her family at her side. She was born September 26, 1935, in Massillon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lester and Bertha (Smith) Shilling. Mona was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School in Massillon and a Member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon. Mona was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed bowling, cards, crossword puzzles, and board games. She mostly enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Michael Meyer of Sun Lakes, Arizona; sons, Christopher Knouff of Canton, Brian Knouff of Massillon, Kevin and daughter-in-law, Wendy (Hunt) Knouff of Canal Fulton, and Brad Knouff and his fiancée Rochelle Casalandra of Akron; brothers Ron Shilling and Lester Shilling of Massillon; grandchildren, Michael Meyer, Jr., Rachel Meyer, Rachell Campbell, Abby Knouff, Caitlin Walsh-Knouff, Allie Knouff; and great-grandchildren, Caden and Landon Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roland J. Knouff whom she married in 1957; sister, Yvonne Rister; and brother, Chuck Shilling. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Heitger Funeral Home - MASSILLON-Chapel, 639 First Street N.E., Massillon, from 6 to 8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus, 206 Cherry Rd. NE, Massillon, Ohio, at 10:30 A.M. with the Very Rev. James E. Sheridan, J.C.L., V.F. celebrant. Burial to follow the service in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
