November 20, 1936 – June 7, 2025
Nancy Ann Letcavits, age 88 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Aultman Massillon. She was born November 20,1936, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Clarence and Estella (Kiefer) Harper. She was a devoted member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary's. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Letcavits, and brothers, Dale and Gary Harper. Nancy is survived by her children, John Letcavits of Columbus, Joi (Michael Hodgson) Letcavits, Kristi (Tim) Muzi, and Bart Letcavits all of Massillon, grandchildren, Travis and Chase Letcavits of Columbus, Olivia and Grace Muzi, and Cason Letcavits all of Massillon.
Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. She was 3-star majorette for the Massillon Tiger Swing Band and a member of the a cappella choir. Nancy worked for the Massillon Board of Education for 19 years as a government clerk at St. Mary's and St. Barbara's schools until her retirement in 1996. She had a lifelong passion for music and playing the piano. An avid golfer and tennis enthusiast, she spent many years sharing her love for the game with family and friends. She enjoyed reading and was a true card shark, known for her skill at bridge, which she played for over 60 years. She loved watching all sports, especially Massillon football and the halftime show. Her greatest joy and deepest pride in life came from her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, intelligence, loving heart, and strong faith.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Heitger Funeral Home, Massillon Chapel, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary Church, at 11:00 am. with Very Rev. John E. Sheridan celebrant. Burial to follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.
