Maier
December 31, 1955 – April 11, 2025
Neil W. Maier, age 69, of Canton, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 following a long fought battle with congenital heart and lung issues. He was born December 31, 1955, in Massillon, the son of the late James and Mary Dolores Maier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughters, Jennifer and Anna Marie. Neil is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cindy (Friedrich) Maier; daughters, Dr. Megan (Tim) Staub and Lindsey (Isaac) Schuette. His pride and joy were his four grandchildren, Skylar, Timmy, Sophie and Will. He is also survived by brothers, Jim (Elaine) Maier, Jere (Margie) Maier; sister, Sharon Kaczmarczyk; numerous nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Joanne Friedrich. Neil spent most of his career in the HVAC business. He was the VP of Stark Cooling and Heating, and later as territory manager with other numerous HVAC companies. Before he retired, he worked for Elum Music. He was a man who valued the motto "Faith, Family and Friends." He was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon and was a member of the 3rd Degree K of C Council #554.
He was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1974.
His family and lifelong friendships meant everything to him.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W.
Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary's Campus in Massillon.
