Tresino
October 6, 1925 – April 26, 2015
Nick J. Tresino age 89 of Massillon, went home to be with our Lord on April 25, 2015 at Altercare of Nobles Pond.
He was born October 6, 1925 in Albright, WV, son of the late Domenick and Filomena (Della Camera) Tresino.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and went to church religiously until his health was declining. He was a Massillon Postal Carrier for many years and enjoyed repairing old tube TV's as a hobby.
He served in the Army during WWII in the 103rd Infantry as a scout and received the Purple Heart for his injury and service. He was a member of DAV and K of C Council #554 3rd Degree.
Nick enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and taking care of his orchard. He enjoyed making apple cider for family and friends. He loved his children and grandchildren and his polka music and country music.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Maxine (Chedester) Tresino who died 2011, brother Louie Tresino and sister Julia Hoban McMullen.
Nick is survived by his daughter Patricia (Angelo) Silla of Massillon, son Robert (Helen) Tresino of Navarre, sister Rose (Ted) Gallina La Moureux of San Diego, CA, brother Francis (Mary Lou) Tresino of Windham, Ohio, grandchildren Stacey Silla, Tiffany Silla Collins, Rob Tresino and Krista Tresino, great-granddaughters Kyrielle Ratliff and Peyton Collins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6 to 9 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors provided by American Legion Post #221.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 408 - 9th St. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44706.
