(Huwig) Graber
March 25, 1925 – November 8, 2022
Noreen L. Graber, age 97 of Massillon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She was born March 25, 1925, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Harry and Cecelia (Slicker) Huwig. Noreen was a graduate of Washington High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob Graber in 1947, and together they raised five children. They celebrated 70 years of marriage before Bob's death in 2018. Noreen was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Nave Crew. In addition, she was instrumental in establishing St. Mary's School Library in 1966. Noreen was also a member of the Massillon Woman's Club and along with her husband, delivered Meals on Wheels to area residents. Noreen will always be known for her bridge playing, and her quick wit at telling jokes. Her family will always remember the wonderful Christmas Eve celebrations with good food and fun at Grandma Noreen's and Grandpa Bob's house. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Tracy Graber, Gregg and Sheila Graber, Grant and Annette Graber; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Allen Neago; son-in-law, Tom Martinet; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The love of her family was only surpassed by her devotion to her Catholic Faith and St. Mary's Church. In addition to her parents and husband, Noreen was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Martinet, and sister, Dolores Sirgo. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, at 11:00 AM with The Very Rev. Canon Fr. Matthew Mankowski celebrant. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior the mass at St. Mary's Church. Interment will to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Danbury Senior Living in Massillon and Elara Caring, for their compassionate and loving care of Noreen.
