Paul A. Halter, age 93 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was born December 30, 1923, in Canton the son of the late Anthony B. and Mary L. (Rohr) Halter. Paul was a carpenter retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and Carpenters Union Local # 69. Paul is survived by his daughters Kathy (Ron) Lazar; Marylou Hefling; Sylvia (Mike)  Priest; son, Joseph (Becky) Halter; daughter-in-law Peggy Halter; sister, Angela Slicker; brothers Raymond Halter and Norbert Halter; eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary C. Halter, son, Paul M. Halter, son-in-law Ken Hefling, great-grandson Joseph Halter and several brothers and sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Barbara Catholic Church at 10 A.M. with Rev. Thomas Bishop celebrant. Burial to follow at St. Barbara Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Heitger Funeral Home - MASSILLON CHAPEL from 1 to 4 P.M.
