Paul B. Renier, age 85 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.

He was born April 13, 1936, in Louisville the son of the late Basil and Dorothy (Violand) Renier.

Paul taught English at Central Catholic High School, Plain Local School, and at Canton Local Schools. He received the St. Pius X Service award from the Diocese of Youngstown in 1974 and Catechetical Ministry Award for 25 years of service. He was a member of National Council of Teachers of English and Catholic Order of Foresters. The "Excellence in Religion Award" was awarded to both Paul and his wife, Mary, by the Massillon K of C and St. Barbara Catholic Church in 1993. Paul was a member of the K of C Council # 554 3rd Degree and was Past Grand Knight.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Mossgrove) Renier; son and daughter-in-law, Geoffrey and Nicole Renier; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and David Hersher, Monica and Joshua Erichsen; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Dennis Haidet; seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John and Kenneth Renier; and sister, Mary Miller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 322 3rd St SE at 10:30 AM.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon from 4 PM to 7 PM.

Entombment to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
