Paul Skidmore , age 71 of Jackson Township, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 on his 43rd wedding anniversary at Mercy Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1953, in Akron, the son of the late Wynona and Delbert Skidmore. Paul was an Air Force veteran and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  He was a graduate of the University of Akron. Paul worked in graphic design for 25 years and he retired from Jackson High School where he was theater manager for 12 years. He was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was a volunteer for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Paul was active volunteer on the Canal Towpath. Paul is survived by his wife, Marcia (Mancz) Skidmore; children, Joseph, Kathryn, David, and Tony; grandson, Jonas; siblings, Susan Skidmore and Charles Skidmore; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Mancz, MaryKay (Scott) Dotterer; nieces, Natalie, Nicole, Carmen, Maddie; nephews, Andy and Mark. He was preceded in death by sister, Barb. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3430 St. Michaels Dr NW at 10:00 am with Rev. Benson Okpara celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Burial to follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
