Ralph L. Brand, age 94 of Massillon passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012. He was born on January 19, 1918 in Massillon and was son of the late Joseph H. and Theresa (Wilhelm) Brand.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp. He retired in 1985 from Canton Drop Forge where he was an inspector. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Eagles # 190. He was an excellent cook and wine maker.

Ralph is survived by sons William R. (Marge) Brand of Lake In the Hills, IL, John J. (Elaine)) Brand of Walton Hills, Ohio, Timothy M. (Kathy) Brand of Massillon and Daniel C. Brand of Massillon, daughter Sue (Tim) Woods of Massillon, Linda (Paul) Condon of Perry Twp., Barb Jones of California, daughter-in-law Gail Brand of Roseau, Minn., brothers George Brand of Canal Fulton, Eddie (Dolly) Brand of Massillon, sister Anna Jordan of Massillon many loved nieces, nephews and a very close nephew Clayton (Robin) Brand, twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred (Emrick) Brand who died in 1994, three sons, Robert, Samuel and Thomas Brand, one daughter Linda Carol Brand, six sisters Veronica Chaperlo, Rose Zartman, Helen Wilkerson, Mary Margaret Brand, Lucille Brand and Rita Brand and two brothers Joseph Brand and Leo Brand.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St. N.E. from 6 to 8 P.M. that will include services by the Eagles #190.
