Ralph Thomas Harris, age 88, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. Luke Lutheran Community.

He was born in Fairpoint, Ohio on July 31, 1922 and was a long time Massillon resident.

Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp where he served in Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa during WWII.

He retired from the Hoover Company in 1990 where he was a security guard for 21 years. He enjoyed playing the accordian in his retirement and played at area Polka Dances.

Ralph is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Rick and Carol Harris of North Canton, grandchildren Stacie and Andrew Harris of Massillon, sister Agnes Miller of Coaropolis, PA and his best pals Nikki and Katy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Marie who died in 1990.

Funeral Service will be held at Heitger Funeral Service - Massillon Chapel on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Fred Balding officiating. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Entombment will follow at Green Lawn Mausoleum in Akron.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Stark County Humane Society, P.O. Box 7077, Canton, Ohio, 44705.
