Reinhold "Sonny" Dominick passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 after a courageous five year battle with Parkinson's disease. Sonny was born on July 10, 1930 to Mary (Beres) and Emil Dominick Sr.
He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. Sonny served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was owner of R.C. Dominick-Builders. He took great pride in his carpentry work. He was an active member of First Christian Church where he was an Elder and Deacon. He served on various committees one of which he was chairman of the Ushers for 17 years.
In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sandra "Sandy" Detweiler.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joann (Detweiler) Dominick; his children, Diane (Bill) Wright of Worthington, Ohio and Michael (Jennie) Dominick of Massillon; his four grandchildren, Ryan Dominick, Stephanie Dominick both of Massillon, Austin Wright of Worthington and Alyssa Wright of Perrysburg, Ohio; sister, Irene Metzger of Massillon; brother, Emil (Virginia) Dominick Jr. of Massillon; brother-in-law, Myron "Mike" Detweiler of Aurora, Ohio; 7 nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 11AM at First Christian Church, 1020 Wales Rd. N.E, Massillon. Family will receive friends from 9-11AM prior to the service at the church.
Private burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church or Stark County Parkinson's Support Group c/o Marcia Short, 1309 Springhill Ave. N.E., Massillon, OH 44646.
