Richard J. Scheetz, age 85, of Jackson Twp., passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. Richard  retired from Miller Excavating. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and coaching his daughter. Richard  is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann (Smith) Scheetz; daughter, Melanie (Lance) Strang; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Scheetz, Jon Scheetz; sisters, Anna Habony, Barb Hoagland, and Connie Leavens. He was preceded in death by daughters, Tina Scheetz and Kristina Hershberger, brother, Kenny Scheetz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11 A.M. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Connor Hetzel celebrant. Visitation will be at the church prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
