Richard L. Walsh, age 62 of Massillon, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home following a courageous two year battle with cancer.
He was born March 17, 1954 in Barberton.
He was a veteran of the Army serving in Germany.
He retired from Bowlings Collision Center where he was a body shop manager for 28 years.
Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family brought him the most happiness.  He was a loving and strong husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathleen (Theken) Walsh; children, Matthew (Samantha) Walsh, Caitlin (Jeffery) Peters; grandchildren, Gavin and Aubree Walsh; mother, Alma Ruth (Palmer) Powell of Loudonville; mother-in-law, Mildred (Sander) Walsh of Massillon; sisters, Connie Perkins of Loudonville, Sandy (Tim) Linkous of Boynton Beach, FL; brothers, Andy (Toni) Walsh of Whitsett, NC, Mike Walsh of Akron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Perry Walsh; brother, Dennis Walsh; brother-in-law, Joel Perkins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 10th at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE from 5 PM to 7 PM. With a memorial service at 7 PM with Pastor Erik Cremeans.
