IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Wincek
May 26, 1934 – January 24, 2025
Richard N. Wincek, 90, of Massillon, Ohio, entered his heavenly home on January 24, 2025.
He was born on May 26, 1934, to John and Frances Wincek. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda "L" Wincek; his parents; his brothers, John and Gene Wincek; grandson Tanner Brown and the mother of his three daughters, Marilyn Wincek.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald Wincek; his three daughters, Diane Gray, Jana (Val), Burson, Karen (Tab) Brown; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of joy in his life.
Richard began his early career as a meat cutter for Superior Brand Meats. With a desire to support his family, combined with his drive to succeed and positive attitude, he achieved tremendous success, earning recognition as having the number-one agency in the country with Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Company.
After retirement, Richard and his lovely wife, L spent eight years traveling the country in their motorhome, returning in the fall for Massillon football games. A lifelong resident of Massillon, Richard was a passionate supporter of Massillon Tiger High School football, only missing a few games while occupying the same Paul Brown Stadium seats for 72 years. He cherished his role as a Massillon Sideliner, considering it his personal ministry to support and mentor the players. His encouragement and mentorship deeply impacted the young men on the team. His love for the Tigers and his strong connection to the community were evident in the many friendships and bonds he built over the years.
His pride and joy, which he shared with anyone who would lend an ear, was the time spent with his family. He was devoted to imparting wisdom and love that will continue to resonate with them for generations to come. Richard's legacy of dedication to family, community, and the Massillon Tigers will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the wonderful care and love given by the caregivers at the Laurels of Massillon. We are forever grateful.
A private service will be held for immediate family, and his life will be celebrated forever.
T-I-G!
