Robert Lee Ellis, age 67, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center.

He was born March 25, 1944, the son of Don Ellis and Gertrude (Green) Ellis.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge Star 187, North Canton Eagles Aerie 2223, and UAW Local 420.

He received his apprenticeship for pattern maker from Goodyear working there for 12 years, then working at Ford Motor Company for 31 years.

Robert is survived by wife of 46 years, Shela Ellis of North Canton, son, Darrin L. (Jennifer) Ellis, of Akron; daughter, Sherri Lynn Ellis (Jeff Anstine) of Massillon; two grandchildren, Christopher L. Ellis and Nicholas J. Ellis; mother, Gertrude (Green) Ellis, brother-in-law, Charles McKee.

He was preceded in death by father, Don Ellis and sister, Rita McKee.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 16 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heitger Jackson Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. at 12 Noon with UAW Chaplin Marvin Sparks officiating.

Burial will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens at 11AM.
