Obituary

Robert Joseph Karrenbauer, age 83, of Massillon, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center.

He was born January 24, 1929, in Massillon, the son of late John W. and Helen I. (Weber) Karrenbauer.

Robert was a Korean War veteran serving with the Army and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree. Robert was very proud to his design for Obie the Tiger that he created in 1946 for the school newspaper that is still used today.

Robert is survived by wife, Fleeta E. (Stuart) Karrenbauer; two sons, John M. Karrenbauer of Fredricktown, Kenneth A. Karrenbauer of Del Valle, Texas; daughter, Pamela S. (Anthony) Mancini of North Canton; brother, Ronald J. (Marilyn) Karrenbauer of Maumee; four grandchildren, Mark, Kelly, John, and Glen.

He was preceded in death by son, Glen David Karrenbauer; sister, Ruth Karrenbauer; two brothers, William and John Karrenbauer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11AM with Rev. Raymond Paul celebrant.

Burial to follow at St. Barbara Cemetery in Massillon.
