Rodney D. Murphy, age 81 of Jackson Twp., passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015.

He was born in Canton, son of the late Harold and Alice (Lister) Murphy.

Rodney was of veteran of the Army.  He was a tool and die maker and retired from Aircraft Braking Systems in 1998.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Beverly (Binns) Murphy, son Tod (Diona) Murphy of Massillon, daughters Sherrie (Bud) Diana and Robin (Clayton) Brand, brother Tim (Beth) Murphy all of Jackson Twp., grandchildren Lindsay (Josh) Williams, Tyler (Kim) Diana, Brandon Diana, Cori (Scott) Davis, Megan Murphy and Kyle Murphy and great-grandchildren Jocelyn and Lucas Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harold "Sonny" Murphy, sister Janice Murphy and sister-in-law Shirley Cate.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon, 44646.

Funeral Service will be held on  Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown, Ohio 44685 with Rev. James Klein celebrant.

Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in North Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CrossRoads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Rd., Suite E, Uniontown,  Ohio  44685.
