Roland S. Kirsch II age 70 of Jackson Twp, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013.

He was born in Canton July 27, 1942 and was son of the late Roland S. and Marian (Grosenbaugh) Kirsch.

Roland was a graduate of McKinley High School Class of 1960 where he remained on the alumni and reunion committees. He served in the National Guard for seven years where he attained the rank of Staff Sgt.

Roland retired from Babcock and Wilcox where he was a engineering project coordinator.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was a life member of Bolivar Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, nature and dogs. He was a muscle car and street rod enthusiast and member of the NSRA. His love of American history often drew him to Colonial Williamsburg. He was also involved in Ft. Laurens Foundation where he was a life member.

Roland 'Spunky' Kirsch married his wife Marie (Eckenrode) Kirsch in Colonial Williamsburg on Sept. 6, 1975. In addition to his wife he is survived by brothers Garry G. (Lynette) Kirsch of Uniontown and Randy A. (Paula) Kirsch of Glastonbury, CT, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
