IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald J.
Seifert
July 21, 1942 – February 10, 2024
Ronald J. Seifert, age 81, of Canton, passed away Saturday, February 10 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Massillon, Ohio on July 21, 1942 to Mary and Joseph Seifert, Ron was the second oldest of nine children raised in a home that affectionately became known as the "Seifert Rompin' Rancho." Ron graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1960, and married the love of his life, Judy Kleinhenz, four years later on February 8, 1964. They had five children: David, Diane, Lisa, Laura and Dan. A hard-working family man, Ron spent a decade as a tool grinder at The Timken Company and three decades at The Hoover Company before retiring in 2002. He was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church for 58 years and proudly served as a 4th Degree Knight in the Massillon Knights of Columbus, an honor he treasured. A humble euchre champ, Ron loved playing cards with his family. He also loved watching and playing sports. He was an avid fisherman, a member of the Canton Amateur Sports Hall of Fame and played for the Mel's Tavern Championship Fumbleball Team. Over the years, he volunteered his time with many clubs and organizations. Ron was preceded in death by his father Joseph Seifert in 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judy, and children David (Debbie) Seifert, Diane (Brian) Kell, Lisa (Dan) Baxter, Laura (Paul) DePasquale, Dan (Nicole) Seifert; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Marisa) Seifert, Luke Seifert, Kaitlin Kell, Kristin Kell, Morgan Kell, Marissa Kell, Ashlie Baxter, Alex (Sonny) Baxter, Bella DePasquale, Dominic DePasquale and Margo Seifert; 5 great grandchildren Kylie, Baylie, Charlie, Nathaniel and Noah. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Seifert, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with his brother Fr. Michael D. Seifert as celebrant. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours are Thursday evening from 5-8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home/JACKSON CHAPEL, 5850 Wales Avenue NW. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, the American Lung Association or Akron Children's Hospital. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospital's lung care unit and staff for their care and compassion. Rest in peace, Ronnie. Those of us you've left behind will love and miss you forever, but know the faith, wisdom and love you've imparted will carry us through.
