Ruby D. Rosche, age 96, passed away on April 27, 2013 at Amherst Meadows Senior Care Center in Massillon.
Ruby was born June 26, 1916, to David and Isabelle (Lindsay) Weidner in the family home in Forty Corners near Massillon. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1934. She married John H. Rosche in 1935 and lived in Newman as a homemaker until the 1950's when she went to work at Farm Fresh Dairy. Later, in the 1960's, she was employed at Evans Auto Parts. In 2003, Ruby moved to an apartment at Amherst Meadows.
Ruby's hobbies included needlework, ceramics and playing the piano and organ. She loved to garden and was especially fond of growing roses. She also enjoyed traveling, and her favorite vacations took her to the Rocky Mountains with her son, Mark. Exercise classes were an important part of her life as were family get-togethers and luncheons with friends.
She is survived by her five children, daughters Lois (David) Price of Fairfax, VA, Judy (Larry) Longworth of Massillon, sons Tom (Jan) of Coral Springs, FL, Larry of Ravenna, OH and Mark Rosche of Clyde, OH. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Hattie Scoville, Myrtle Berg, Margaret Hossler and brothers, David and Odell Weidner.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Heitger Funeral Home, JACKSON CHAPEL location. Her funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1 P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, where she was a member. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 726 First St. NE, Massillon, OH or Harbor Light Hospice, 27 S. Main, Munroe Falls, Ohio 44662.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Harbor Light Hospice and the staff at Amherst Meadows for their loving care of Ruby. She appreciated their daily kindnesses, cheery greetings and special favors which made her feel loved.
