Ruth C. Conti, age 95 formerly of Massillon, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Beachwood, Ohio.
She was born December 23, 1922, in Massillon, daughter of the late Francis (Frank) and Clara (Schill) Schmader.
Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was extremely active as a founding member of the St. Mary's quilting group. In addition to the group quilts, she also produced at least 20 handmade quilts for her family. She was also a member of St. Mary Rosary Altar Society.
She is survived by her children, Loretta C. (Daniel) Pierce, Gordon C. Conti (Karen Wisdom), Jeannette M. White; sister-in-law, Dorothe Schmader; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Conti; and her siblings, Grace Kracker, and Robert, Joseph, Thomas and Ray Schmader.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, from 11:30 AM to 12:50 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday at 1 PM with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.
Burial to follow the service at St. Mary Cemetery in Massillon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110.
