Sandra J. (Sandy) Sterling, age 63 of North Canton and formerly of Jackson Twp., passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 21, 1949 in Sebring, Ohio and was daughter of the late Arnold and Imogene (Sutton) Schmid.

Sandy was past president of the Jackson Middle School PTA where she also served as co-chairman of the Craft Show. She enjoyed golf and had been president of the Thursday morning ladies league at Tam O'Shanter Golf Course.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Frank L. Sterling of North Canton, son Stephen Sterling of Jackson Twp., daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Samuel Sweitzer of Canton and two grandchildren; Hunter Joshua Sterling and Arya Rose Sterling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Eyleen Himes.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave., Massillon, Ohio 44646.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
