Obituary

He was larger than life and happiest when he was making others laugh.

Sean Kevin Craven, age 41, of North Canton, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He was born July 8, 1985, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Patrick and Barbara (Dixon) Craven.

At the center of Sean’s life were his partner, Jennifer, and their daughter, Harper. His greatest joy was the life they shared together, filled with love, laughter, and encouragement. In the large and close-knit Craven family, Sean was our mascot and biggest star, bringing his unmistakable humor and individuality to every family gathering. He was also a devoted uncle who loved attending his nieces’ and nephews’ games and birthdays, and taking them to Star Wars and Marvel movies.

Sean was larger than life and happiest when he was making others laugh. He liked his music loud, his pizza hot, and his Doritos plentiful. He took pizza too seriously, rocked the djembe, biked mountains and trails, loved bears and wolves, and was an unapologetically devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Whether making one of his hilarious videos, hosting “Seanapalooza,” or delivering a legendary best-man speech, Sean had a way of making himself unforgettable.

Sean was deeply caring, reflective, and grounded in his Christian faith. He had a gift for connecting with people, putting them at ease, and making them feel understood. He grew into the person he wanted to be and lived with intention, compassion, and authenticity. His ability to connect and care for others carried into his work as a registered nurse.

He took pizza too seriously, rocked the djembe, biked mountains and trails, loved bears and wolves, and was an unapologetically devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Sean is survived by his mother, Barbara Craven; his partner, Jennifer Botimer; his daughter, Harper Botimer; his siblings, Timothy (Cheryl) Craven, Michael Craven, Daniel (Melissa) Craven, Erin (James) Adkins, Colleen (Jeff) Kracker, Patrick (Ana) Craven, and James (Shanea) Craven; his 15 nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Craven.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 4 to 8 PM at Heitger Funeral Home – Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. NW. Burial will follow the funeral Mass at Rose Hill Cemetery in Massillon.

A celebration of Sean’s life, “Seanapalooza,” will be held at a later date.
