Shirley M. Roby, age 100, of Jackson Twp., passed away November 1, 2026, at Woodlawn Hospice Care Center.

She was born October 5, 1926, in Canton, the daughter of the late Clifford R. and Pauline (Getz) Dickerhoff.

Shirley was a charter member of Jackson Christian Church (Rivertree) and a girl scout leader.

Shirley was a homemaker with many diverse interests. She loved going to auto races with her husband Howard and many friends from all over the country. She especially enjoyed attending the Indianapolis 500. She enjoyed day trips with her daughter to craft shows and visits to Stan Hywet and MAPS Air Museum. A favorite trip was the annual Toys for Tots at the Wingfoot Air Dock. The Goodyear Blimp was always a delight. Seeing it pass over was a thrill. A source of pride was her only child, Holly. She loved listening to her play piano and attending performances and plays she directed. An avid gardener, she planted flowers just this past spring. She had many animals throughout her life and especially loved her Doberman Caesar and lap buddy Tyler. She believed they would cross the Rainbow Bridge together. Her final pet was her cat Queenie.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Holly Ellen Roby.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Howard Roby.

A celebration of life is planned on the compound next spring.
