Shirley A. Schmidt, age 85 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Altercare of Navarre. She was born July 16, 1938, in Canton the daughter of the late Marion and Florence (Rosenbluh) Werstler. Shirley retired from Chapel Hill Retirement Community after 18 years of service. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. Shirley is survived by sons, Michael J. Schmidt, Timothy J. (Lori) Schmidt, Paul F. Schmidt; daughters, Brenda (Douglas) Roll, Barbara (James) Johnson; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Edward Schmidt; daughter, Mary Schmidt; and great-grandson, Jace Eric. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Barbara Campus, 2813 Lincoln Way W, Massillon at  11 AM. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 21 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
