Siegfried 'Fred' O. Koehler, age 78, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Altercare of Navarre.

He was born on April 9, 1933 in Hambrucken Germany, the son of the late Karl and Hedwig (Kern) Koehler. He came to Massillon with his Aunt and Uncle in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Marine Corp. He became a stained glass artist and he and his wife established Glass Craft Stained Glass Studio in 1970 and operated the family business until 1996 when his daughters took over the business. His art work can be seen in many area businesses, homes and churches inluding St. Barbara Catholic Church, St. Timothy's, Holy Trinity Lutheran and Heitger Funeral Home in Massillon.

Fred is survived by his wife of 51 years Jane L. (Jacobs) Koehler of Navarre, daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Tim Fath of Navarre, daughter Bonnie Koehler of Massillon, brother and sister-in-law Rudi and Renate Koehler of Germany, granddaughters Allyssa Krug and Nicole Fath.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel with Rev. Thomas Cebula officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.

Visititation will be held on Thursday morning from 9 t o 11 A.M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 5000 Rockside Road Suite 310, Independence, Ohio 44131.
