In Loving Memory of Stefanka Laskovska

October 3, 1923 - October 19, 2026

Stefanka Laskovska, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, at the age of 103.

Stefanka was born on October 3, 1923, in the beautiful village of Capari, Macedonia, to her parents, Florinka and Krste. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jovan, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and memories, as well as her brother, Todor.

Stefanka married Jovan on July 14, 1941, beginning a journey together that would span decades and lead their family across the ocean. On June 16, 1966, they emigrated from Macedonia to the United States in search of new opportunities and a better future for their family. Through hard work, sacrifice, and determination, they built a life rooted in family, tradition, and love.

Stefanka’s life was deeply rooted in her Orthodox Christian faith, which remained a guiding light throughout her 103 years. She knew and sang countless Psalms, finding comfort, strength, and peace in her devotion to God. Her faith was an important part of who she was and the foundation upon which she built her life and raised her family.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and the generations that followed. Stefanka leaves behind her loving daughter, Ljuba (Josif) Kunovski; her sons, Metodija (Nada) and Riste (Mara); six grandchildren, Sasho (Mimoza), Zoran (Marina), Jasmina (Jeff), Nikola (Melissa), Jovan (Christina), and Jimmy (Marisa); thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Family was the center of Stefanka’s world, and she took great pride in helping raise her grandchildren, nurturing each generation with unconditional love, wisdom, and the traditions she held so dear. She created a lasting foundation of family bonds that will continue to unite the generations who follow her.

Stefanka was also an extraordinary cook and baker. Her home was often filled with the unmistakable, comforting aroma of freshly baked bread, a scent that will forever be associated with the warmth, love, and hospitality she shared so generously. Through her cooking, she brought family together, preserving cherished traditions and creating memories that will live on for generations.

Beyond her devotion to faith and family, Stefanka had an impeccable sense of style and a deep appreciation for the finer things in life. She carried herself with elegance and grace, embracing beauty and life’s special comforts while remaining deeply connected to her roots and traditions. She possessed a distinctive spirit and a way of making an impression that those who knew and loved her will never forget.

Stefanka lived through more than a century of change, witnessing generations grow and family traditions carry on. Her life was a testament to strength, perseverance, faith, and the enduring bonds of family. The stories, values, recipes, traditions, and memories she passed down will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved her.

Though she has reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Jovan, and her parents, her legacy will live on through the many generations of her family who were blessed to know her and call her their own. Her faith, her freshly baked bread, her elegance, and, above all, her love for her family will remain treasured memories for years to come.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

May her memory be eternal.
