Thomas H. Krake, age 78, of Canal Fulton, died Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio on December 28, 1936, the son of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Moreland) Krake,Tom worked for First Energy working as Joint Line Distribution Coordinator in Youngstown and Akron, then Garage and Building Supervisor in Massillon until his retirement. He returned to First Energy to work as a consultant after he retired.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon and K of C Council #554. He volunteered with many organizations including Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters where he was a member of the Board of Directors. Tom was a lifelong car enthusiast and was past president of VMCCA and AACA. He was a member of the Buick Club and volunteered many years at the Glenmore Gathering.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Carole J. (Way) Krake of Canal Fulton, daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Nick Jordon of Stow, Ohio and Patty and Brian Summers of Indianapolis, IN, brother and sister-in-law Joe and MaryAnn Krake of Lucasville, Ohio, sister Dottie Krake of FL, grandchildren Nicholas (Lori) Jordon, Thomas (Cassie) Jordon, Jennifer (Derek) Emswiler, Eric (Alexandra) Tropepe and Carolynne Tropepe, great-grandchildren Abby, Lilly and Anna Jordon, Anthony Jordon, Emmerich Emswiler and Alaina Tropepe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Denny Krake.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 3, 2015 by Fr. Edward Gretchko, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church and will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 Cherry Rd. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646 at 10 A.M.
Burial will be at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Struthers, Ohio later on Thurday at 3 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 4682 Douglas Circle NW, Canton, Ohio 44718.
