Thomas Leo Messenger, age 80 of Navarre, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Country Lawn Nursing Home.

He was born July 30, 1942, in Tunnelton, WV, the son of the late Everett and Gladys (Strawser) Messenger.

Tom was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1960.

Tom retired from Your Pizza Shop.  He had served two terms in Canal Fulton City Council before being elected Mayor and serving until 1999.

He was an avid collector of carnival chalks.

Tom is survived by his children, Jason (Melissa), Thomas Jr., Brian David, Amy (Aaron), Kimberly; grandchildren, Liberty, Lee, Noah; and wife, Pam (Sebald) Messenger.

Private services will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Washington High School Swing Band.
