Vera C. Martin, age 95 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at home surrounded by family. She was born June 24, 1930, in Canal Fulton the daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Milankov) Pavkov. Vera was a homemaker. She ran her own crafting business, Country Barn for 17 years. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - St. Barbara Campus and formerly of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church. Vera enjoyed sewing, crafting, baking, and was an avid reader. Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. Vera is survived by daughters, Cindy (Don) Harwig, Sue (Bob) Princehorn, Cathy (Mike) Peters, Becky Frost, all of Massillon and Connie (Mark) Slezak of Pennsylvania; sons, Chuck (Joy) Martin, John Martin; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by, her husband, Charles J. Martin; daughter, Mary Ann Martin who died in 1964; infant son, Edward Martin; son, Tom Martin; brother, Sam Pavkov. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Barbara Campus, 2813 Lincoln Way NW at 11:00 am with Rev. Travis Seagraves celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, Massillon from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Burial to follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
