Obituary

Verla D. Bridenthal, age 101, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Altercare Of Navarre.

She was born March 20, 1912, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late John J. and Anna (DeLong) Lutz. Formerly of Greensburg, she had lived in the Massillon area for the past 20 years.

She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church where she had been a lifetime member, Daughters of America - Greensburg Council for over 50 years, Daughter of the American Revolation, North Canton Legacy Chapter 596 Order of Eastern Star 70 year member, and Massillon Senior Center.

Verla will be missed by her granddaughter Patricia Kungle of Louisville, grandson Jay Bridenthal of Ft. Meyers, FL, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Dale Bridenthal who died in 1964, son Jack Bridenthal, grandson Dale Bridenthal who died in 1981, two sisters, Elmira Hatheway and Rhea Willaman and brother Carl Lutz.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. Order of Eastern Star service will begin at 9:45 A.M.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either St. Johns Villa in Carrollton, Greensburg United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society.
