Obituary

Verna 'Susie' Campian, age 85, of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014.

She was born February 20, 1928, in Akron, Ohio the daughter of the late Alfred and Esther (Hinderlong) Berger. She was also preceded in death by husbands Charles Bammerlin, Ernest Summerton and Sam Campian a brother Harry Berger of Mogadore and a sister De Etta Bauman of Louisville.

Susie was a retired teacher, a member of First United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma, and a former member of Massillon Woman's Club.

She is survived by son Bob (Shirley Forsberg) Bammerlin of Portland, OR, daughter Bethany Henry of Zebulon, GA, step-daughters Charlotte Beamer of Akron, Ohio, Barbara Getz of IN., Carol Sutek of North Canton, and Marsha Linquist of Kure Beach, NC, step-son Ronald Campian of Sarasota, FL, grandchildren Elin Bammerlin, Charles Bammerlin, Louis Henry, Eric (Christa) Henry and Alex (Melissa) Henry and many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Av. N.W., Massillon 44646 with Rev. Julia Wertz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aultman Hospice, Salvation Army or First United Methodist Church in Massillon.
