Obituary

Vernell 'Bea' Markusic, age 89, formerly of Jackson Twp., died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Hanover House Nursing Home.

She was born February 18, 1923, in Emery Utah the daughter of the late Thomas Victor and Edna Christina (Sorensen) Keele. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles William 'Bill' Markusic, son John Lawrence Markusic, grandson James Wolford, great-grandson Jeffrey McDowell, three sisters and two brothers.

Bea enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adalines. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church but had previously been of the Morman faith. She belonged to K of C Columbian Ladies and was a volunteer with K of C bingo. She belonged to the Massillon Woman's Club, and enjoyed playing golf, swimming, sewing, gardening, and bowling with Columbian Ladies Bowling League. Bea is survived by by her daughter Frances Williams of Massillon, son Charles William Markusic Jr. of Poland, sister Ina McElprang of Utah, brother Melvin R. Keele of Utah, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 from 2 to 4 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at St Mary's Catholic Church, , at 10 A.M. with Rev. John Tully celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Mary St. Vincent DePaul Fund, 726 First St NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
