Vincent "Jerry" Eberhardt Sr., age 74, of Massillon, passed away on November 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 6, 1940, in Massillon, son of the late Aloysisus J. and Mabel (Eckleberry) Eberhardt.
He was a life long parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, a member of Stark County Farm Bureau, Holmes County Steam Engine Association and Tuscarawas Valley Power Association.
Vincent worked at Quality Supply in N. Canton, Furbee's Tractor Supply in N. Canton, Evans Auto Parts and 38 years at Ansell Rubber Company (former Perry Rubber). He also loved to farm and worked on tractors most of his life. He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time outdoors. He will be missed dearly by his wife, children, family, friends, and his dog "Charlie".
He is survived by wife, Patricia Ann (Maurer) Eberhardt with whom he celebrated 53 years on October 7th, sons Vincent (Debra), Albert (Patricia), Gregory, Andrew (Aleisha Gregg), daughters Catherine (Eric) Ashe, Regina (Gary) Cooper, Monica (Matthew) Maier, fifteen grandchildren, two step-grandsons and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Roy (Charlotte) and Ronald Eberhardt; sisters, Marilyn (Daniel) Bowes and Rosemary Lyons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul and granddaughter Kimberly Eberhardt.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5-8pm at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10AM with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.
Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 726 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
