Walter (Lefty) Featheringham, Jr., age 96, of Massillon, passed away January 15, 2024 following a period of declining health.
He was born March 20, 1927, in Massillon, the son of the late Walter Sr. and Catherine (Eisenbrei) Featheringham.
Walt was a U.S. Marine and served in the Pacific during WWII.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish/St. Mary's, K of C #554 3rd and 4th Degree Bishop Massillon Assembly, American Legion, Massillon Lions Club, and enjoyed senior softball until age 91.  He was a former member of St. Michael Parish of Annandale, VA where he was a Eucharistic minister and lector.
Walt was a government procurement officer with the Department of Defense for 31 years.
Walt is survived by sons, Brian (Carole) Featheringham and Craig Featheringham; and wife, Marilyn (Kuntz) Featheringham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Featheringham; sisters, Jeanne Seese, Mary Patchin, and Alice Knight.
There are no calling hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11 A.M. at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus  with The Very Rev. James E. Sheridan, J.C.L., V. F., and Fr. Edward Gretchko celebrants.
His final place of rest will be Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.
