Wayne G. Mishler, age 90 of Massillon, passed peacefully away with family by his side, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Brewster Parke. He was born November 19, 1934, in Massillon the son of the late Mearl and Minnie (Scheffer) Mishler. Wayne retired from LTV Steel Republic Steel after 30 years of service and retired from Tuslaw where he was a custodial supervisor. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In years past he was a member of the Gideons, taught Sunday School, and played baseball for local teams.  Wayne was a medalist in the local, state, and national Senior Olympics. He loved attending church, reading his bible, and spending time with his family. Wayne is survived by his children, Thomas (Toni) Mishler, Theodore (Lisa) Mishler; Tammy (Scott) Himes; daughter-in-law, Victoria Mishler; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carlile (Nadine), Phylis (Joe) Rogers, Gene (Mary), George, Thurlo, brother-in-law, Bill Crofut; and furry companion, Patsy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley "Shirl" Mishler and son, Timothy W. Mishler; siblings, Carl (Mable), Oneida, Eileen (Bruce) Close, Russell, Florence; sister-in-law, Gloria and Doris; and furry companion, Kea. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 11616 Sinclair St. SW, at 11 am with Rev. Thomas Mishler officiant. Burial to follow the service at Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery in North Lawrence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
