January 29, 1931 – May 6, 2015
Wilfred "Junie" H. Miller Jr, age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 after a brief illness.
Junie was born January 29, 1931, to the late Wilfred and Florence (Sibila) Miller.
After graduating from Massillon Washington High School in 1950, he spent four years in Colorado proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Upon returning to the Massillon area, Junie worked as a loyal member of Painter's Local 603 for 35 years, and retired in 1992 from Ladd's Painting where he had worked for over 20 years.
He belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church where he was often the first person in the door for Saturday evening mass. He was an active member of several local fraternal orders, but his favorites were The Sons and Daughters of Herman, Massillon Moose Lodge 481, and Massillon Eagles #190. Junie enjoyed playing golf, and scored a hole in one at the age of 73.
Junie is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Randy) Feielin of Canton, Judy (James) Sicker of Massillon; brothers, Howard "Howie" Miller, John Miller, Raymond "Lefty" Miller, Clarence "Jake" Miller all of Massillon; in addition, Junie took great pride in his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Louie; and two sisters, Mary Lou Peters and Florence "Pinky" Friedman.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE from 6 to 8PM.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 10 am with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.
Burial to follow at St. Clement Cemetery in Navarre.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sons and Daughters of Herman Benevolent Fund, 1994 Deermont Ave NW, Massillon, OH 44647.
