William G. "Bill" Heck, age 89 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, following a brief illness.
He was born July 28, 1927, in Massillon the son of  the late Cletus and Mary (Greisheimer) Heck.
Bill was a retired builder and general contractor.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Bill was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 3124, Eagles #190 and Massillon K of C  Council #554, 3rd Degree.  He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Bill is survived by Son, Jerry Heck; Daughter, Linda Scharver; Brother, Edward Heck; Two Sisters, Lois Heck, Marie Williams; Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Eulalia "Lu" (Zwick) Heck who passed away June 6, 2014, son David "Mikey" who passed away Dec. 2, 2013, daughter Lauri S. Marshall who passed away Oct. 25, 2012, son-in-law Gary Scharver who passed away Feb. 3, 1996, brothers James Heck and Robert Heck, and sister Jean Chovan.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 3 to 5 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Edward Gretchko, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 322- 3rd St. S.E., Massillon.
Burial to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
