William "Bill" Wade age 87, of Massillon, formerly of Medina, passed away on September 17, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born October 31, 1926 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late William and Daisy (Bennett) Wade.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in both WWII and Korean Conflict. He retired in 1991 from S & S Distributing after 30 years as a sales representative. He formerly worked for Goodyear and Bob Evans.
Bill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a former member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina and K of C of Akron. He loved his time serving in the Lions Clubs of both Massillon and Medina. He
has served as a state officer and Past-President of the Medina Lions Club.
Bill is survived by son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Diana (Lynn) Wade of Jackson Twp., daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Kenneth Aller of Akron, Brother and sister-in-law Bert and Jolene Wade of Vero Beach,
FL, grandchildren Brian Wade, Brittany Wade of Jackson Twp. and Heather (Tom) McGinnis of Minneapolis, MN, great-grandchildren Brandon and Tyler McGinnis, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ramona (Pitsch) Wade who died in 1999, brother Fred Wade and sisters Lorraine Watts and Shirley Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel , 5850 Wales Av. N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Gretchko officiant. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Medina, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Massillon Lions Club, P. O. Box 215, Massillon, Ohio 44648-0215
