William R. Ertle, age 79, of Massillon, passed away on January 19, 2026. He was born November 25, 1946 in Massillon, son of the late Glenn and Norma (Boker) Ertle. Bill was an avid fan of Massillon Tiger football and The Ohio State Buckeyes.  He enjoyed fishing on Bob's Lake in Canada and golfing local courses with his friends, "Old Travelers League". Bill graduated from Ohio University and worked in IT at Republic Steel and finished his career at FirstEnergy Corporation. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cindy (Harwart) Ertle; son, Timothy (Brittney) Ertle; daughter, Traci (Andy) Baumann; brother, David (Michelle) Ertle; grandchildren, Tyler and Cooper Ertle, Emilee, Samantha and Ella Baumann; and extended family. His family will celebrate his life at a later date (date will be posted later). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
