Obituary

William Champion Marable Jr., age 93 of North Canton, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 following a brief illness.

He was born in Canton and was son of the late William C. and Winnie (Masters) Marable Sr. He attended Columbia Military Academy and the University of Wisconsin and Ohio State University where he belonged to Phi Gamma Delta.

He was a 2ndLT in the Airforce and served his country in WWII as a pilot of a B24.

He began his career as a representative for National Cash Register and owned and operated Marable Oil Company. After retiring from the oil company he worked as a realtor for Motts Realty.

He was a member of many service organizations, Community Christian Church and the Ruritans. Many of his adventures included trains, flying and the Outer Banks.

Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary Louise (Kerges) Marable of North Canton, daughters Sue Ann (Robert) Hessman of Tallahassee, FL, Jane Marie 'Bunny' Marable of North Canton and Nancy Marable of Akron, grandchildren William and Michael Hessman of Tallahassee, FL and Ferris Jo and Kerges Tedy Nimen of North Canton.

The family will receive friends at Community Christian Church, 210 N. Main St., North Canton, Ohio 44720 on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from10:30 to 11 A.M. The memorial service will begin at 11 A.M. with Rev. Ralph S. Wearstler officiating. A gathering will follow in the community room at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's memory to Community Christian Church.
