Alberta Kendel Obituary

Alberta Pearl Kendel
Mom passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 with all of us by her side.
In the week prior to her passing, she managed to get all of her children in one place for Christmas for the first time in 35 years, thus blessing us with a few more laughs and a few more of her smiles.
Mom was born on May 29, 1938 in Canal Fulton, Ohio, to the late Earl and Evelyn Ott.  One of six sisters and one brother, lovingly known as "Sis".
She lived at home until 1957 when she met our Dad, Paul Kendel.  After a whirlwind courtship, they decided to elope and that love has stood the test of time.  One November 29, 2020, Mom and Dad celebrated 63 years of marriage.
In 1959, first son Gary was Born, followed by Don in 1961 and finally daughter Teri in 1971.  Leaving behind a legacy of loving daughters-in-law, Tina and Robin, son-in-law, Kyle, eight grandchildren, 9 great-grandbabies and another on the way.
Mom has touched so many lives from Ohio to Texas and back.
Always quick to smile and come up with a dirty comment or two.
She loved to cook, play cards, be around family and her cat, and could watch "Walker, Texas Ranger", her "ChuckyBaby", 24 hours a day.
Mom had a uniquely hilarious yet naive' way about her that just made you want to laugh and throw your arms around her and protect her forever.
It was Moms wish not to have services after her passing.  Eventually she will once again make the journey back to Texas to rest among the bluebonnets she so loved every spring.
We would like to say a very heartfelt thank-you to all the staff, nurses and aides at Rose Lane that have loved our mom and taken care of her for the past few years.
We have all been blessed and are truly better people for having had this crazy, beautiful soul as our mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and above all else, as our friend.
Condolences to the family may be made here on our tribute page.
