Andrew Paul Obituary

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, Andrew (Andy) A. Paul, loving husband, and father of four passed away at age 93.
Andrew was born in McKeesport, PA to Frances (Link) and Martin Paul (Pavel). He was the seventh of nine children.
Andrew graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1947 where he was a 3 Star member of the Tiger Swing Band. As an accomplished trumpet player, he was a member of the 5-piece dance band, the Melody Masters. In addition, he played at many school functions and other community events. As a loyal Massillon Tiger fan, he would spend the football season watching the team play either in person or on TV through the 2021 season.
After high school, he worked at Republic Steel in Massillon.  Andrew started as a furnace operator at Republic’s 18-inch Mill at the Oberlin Road plant, then went to the company Mail Room. From there, he continued to work his way up to a lead position as Manager of Order and Production Planning at Republic Steel Corporation’s Union Drawn Division in Massillon.  He retired in 1983 after 36 years of service.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  He enjoyed vacations at Mackinac Island, Myrtle Beach, and Florida through the years in addition to almost daily rounds of golf here in Stark County or on vacation.  Family gatherings were always a bright spot in his life. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He shared his love of music, sports, and good food with everyone.
Andrew attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon where he sang in the choir. He was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Massillon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Michael, Martin and William, sisters Rose (Albert Carmola) and Frances (Anthony Leone).
