Bradford James Scheiring, 71, who had a strong hand in building many homes in the Stark County area, passed away on March 31, 2023, in Canton.
Brad was born in Canton on October 1,1951, to Robert and Madonna Scheiring of North Canton. He attended Our Lady of Peace School and graduated from Glenwood High School, both in Canton. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, after basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
A skilled brickmason he was employed at Monter Masons for 45 years, literally helping to build the Stark County community. After retiring from masonry, Brad worked at Ferrall Pools & Spas, in North Canton, where he found satisfaction in being outdoors and working with families.
Brad had a strong faith and attended church. He was the kind of man who offered a helping hand when needed, and he loved to tell a good joke. He enjoyed fishing at Sippo Lake, watching golf tournaments, and visiting with his children and grandchildren.
He married Nancy Jean Scheiring (nee Dieffenbaugher) on April 19, 1975, and they were married for 40 years. He is survived by his son, Brian Scott Scheiring and Brian’s wife, Marija Scheiring, of Pittsburgh; daughter, Lisa Renee Scheiring and her partner, Sean Rhodes, of New York City; grandsons Mason Scheiring and Maddox Scheiring; brother, Michael (Marcia) Scheiring; and sister, Kathleen (Jim) Greenlese.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 6, at Heitger Funeral Home at 5850 Wales Ave NW. Visitors are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Stark Parks at https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/FriendsofStarkParks_1/paytribute.html
