Carol Y. (Simon) Scott

Carol Y. Scott, age 77, of Massillon and formerly of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Amherst Meadows Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.  
She was born March 23, 1946, in Denton, TX, the daughter of  the late Harold J. Simon Sr. and Gladys M. (Williams) Simon.  

She graduated in 1964 from Tuslaw High School.  
Carol worked for Motorist Mutual in Columbus for over 44 years and retired in 2008.    
She was a member of VFW Aux. Post #9795 where she volunteered with the annual fundraiser making peanut brittle and hard tact candy.  She attended their district meetings and conventions with her mother. She had belonged to Columbus Senior Citizens.  Carol enjoyed playing bingo, board games, bowling and crocheting.  
In addition to her mother Gladys, Carol is survived by her sister, Marie (Annette) Simon; brothers, Harold Simon II, Victor Simon, Randy Simon and Ricky Simon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.   She was also know as Mammaw to Will (Katie) Scott, Tabitha (Phil) Lattanzio, Cynthia Shreves; great-Mammaw to Davis, Cambree and Hudson Scott, and Elena Grace Lattanzio.   
She was preceded in death by her father, and her husband, William Scott.  
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 1 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave., N.W., Massillon, Ohio  44646.  
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 12 Noon to 1 P.M. 
Burial to follow the service in Sunset Memory Gardens, North Canton. 
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. N.W., Canton, Ohio  44708-1423.
