Corrine (Scruggs) Dancy

Corrine Dancy, age 89 of Canton, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.

She was born January 12, 1933, in Coldwater, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Lillian (Miller) Scruggs.

Corrine retired from Cutler Real Estate after 37 years of service. 

She was a member of Rivertree Church. She enjoyed attending church services and functions, socializing with all her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Corrine is survived by two daughters, Sherry Dancy: grandchildren Ryan Gilbert (Candice) great grandchildren Remi and Coen, and Pam Worthington (Bob): grandchildren Jeff Worthington, Heather Kindl (Brian) great grandchildren Grace and Simon, Todd Worthington (Erin) great grandchildren Bobby and Lucas.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dancy, and daughter, Jerri Kay Dancy.

A memorial service will be held on September 6, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW at 7PM with Rev. Jason Lantz officiating. Services are delayed in order to give the family time to celebrate the birth of Corrine’s 7th great grandchild due on August 9th to Ryan and Candice Gilbert.

Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 5PM to 7PM at the funeral home.

Her final place of rest will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Independence, Mississippi.
