David "John" Harper, age 83, of Sugarcreek, formerly of Justice, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021.
John was born February 13, 1938 in Sandlick, WV to the late Benjamin and Macie (Bailey) Harper. He was the youngest of ten brothers and sisters.
John served in the Vietnam War, attended United Church of Christ, loved country music, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing music in the Red Lantern BlueGrass Band.
John is survived by his wife 20 years, Miriam (Haas), daughters, Angela (Jay) Contrucci and Annette (Mark) Braun; sister, Delora Harper Dillon; step-daughter, Sharon (Gary) Lawver and their family; step-son, Jeff (Paula) Haas and their family, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a large extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. from 5 to 7 P.M. Memorial service will follow beginning at 7 P.M.
Masks are required and social distancing will be observed for all services.
