Dear Marchand Family,
Don and I spent many happy, interesting, and sad times together especially through the 1960's. We were good friends during our 6 years at the Mount. I remember how difficult it was for him during the weeks before ordination when your Mother passed away. When he was in Poland. and I was at Sacred Heart in Youngstown we would get together often and share our early priesthood experiences. When I took a leave of absence, he called and scolded me for not telling him. We kept in touch over the last 40 or so years by phone and an occasional lunch with our classmate Fr. Dick Brobst. Dick and I visited with him for about 3 hours two weeks ago sharing many experiences over the past 50 years. Don was kind, honest, caring, giving, and he loved his Family
