January 26, 1942 – December 12, 2020 (Age 78)

Donna Marie Leaver, age 78 of Massillon, passed away December 12, 2020 peacefully in her sleep at her home in Jackson Township. She was born on January 26, 1942 in Canton, OH to the late Edward and Mary Tournoux.

Donna attended a couple different schools in Massillon and Canton and quit school in 11th grade to marry Gary Leaver, who was in the Navy stationed in Chicago. However, instead of just getting her GED, she finished her high school credits and received her diploma at McKinley night school in 1960. She also attended Jackson Adult Education classes focusing on Business Office Skills from 1984 – 1985.

After graduation, she worked as a front desk clerk at Swift Dry Cleaners from 1959 – 1960. While she was living in Chicago, she was employed as an assembly worker at Laurel Greeting Cards in Illinois. For the next 22 years, she was an awesome stay at home mom and raised four kids. In 1984, she volunteered at the Catholic Service League as a receptionist for a year and then was hired on as their secretary/office manager from 1985 to 1990. After leaving there, she was hired at Master Touch/Blairs Dry Cleaner and soon began managing it for the next four years.

She was an excellent bowler and bowled on a couple bowling leagues receiving trophies for a Hi Series of 570 and Hi Game of 216. She also enjoyed playing bingo, golfing, going to the beach, visiting lighthouses, playing cards and board games, reading and watching movies and especially, visiting with her loved ones.

She was a very spiritual, caring and giving person to so many and although she is now with Jesus and all her loved ones that preceded her, she will be truly missed by all those whose heart she touched. Donna is survived by her children: Gary T, Jeff, Eric, and Julie (Gerber); grandchildren: Johnathon, Joshua, Ravonne, Ramanda, Lacy, Karlee, Cassie, Shane, and Ayden; great grandchildren: Mya, Louie, Bentley and a new great grandchild on the way; brother Charles and sisters Barbara, Marjorie, and Patricia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband of over 20 years, Gary M. Leaver; brothers Joseph and James; and sisters Mary and Katherine.
